Kayla DiVenere, This Isn’t Fun Anymore – Review

by John Gaddis

Kayla DiVenereKayla DiVenere is a TV actress that is best known for her role in the SyFy series Helix. She is the younger sister of Warm Bodies and The Accountant actor Daniel DiVenere. When not acting, DiVenere also is an avid musician and singer/songwriter. Her journey began on piano at age ten, she soon picked up the guitar, ukulele, drums, and bass. DiVenere writes as a form of self-expression to disseminate universal truths and other meaningful messages. She wants to see the world unite and enact change. She thinks music helps us beget and cope with change.

DiVenere has a voice that is well beyond her years, its clear to see her emersion at an early age was providential and a fostering of natural talent.

Her latest single is titled “This Isn’t Fun Anymore,” which has all the trappings of youthful love. The fickleness of young love and the electricity of its emotions. DiVenere offers a silky vocal approach that is filled with pouty sexuality. The tune has a hypnotic beat that never lets up and spins the song to sugary ear candy that is tasty and sweet. Everything you want in a super pop, summer-fresh single.

DiVenere has undoubtedly continued to develop with the release of each single. Her voice is hypnotizing, as is her music. A rock-solid hit that deserves repeat plays.

This Isn’t Fun Anymore (Lyrics)

In the summertime
We were on a vibe
Sunshine on the dash
In your parent’s car
Playing air guitarWish we could go backWe’re too young to be head over feet
You’re all in but you don’t need to be
I don’t want all of your heart leaning on me
You’re weighing me down
Stressing me out

We were electric we’d light up the dark
But now when you kiss me I can’t find a spark
I don’t know why it don’t feel like before
Ah ah ah ah
This isn’t fun anymore

Every season ends
Like another trend
Sometimes I get bored
We don’t have to fight
Don’t have to justify
No one’s keeping score

We’re too young to be head over feet
You’re all in but you don’t need to be
I don’t want all of your heart leaning on me
You’re weighing me down
Stressing me out

We were electric we’d light up the dark
But now when you kiss me I can’t find a spark
I don’t know why it don’t feel like before
Ah ah ah ah

This isn’t fun anymore
We shouldn’t worry no reason to cry
Sometimes a good thing is still meant to die
Don’t even know what we’re doing this for
Ah ah ah ah
This isn’t fun any more
