Jade LeMac, Meet You In Hell Review

by Constance Tucker

Jade-LeMac-cdJade LeMac is an eighteen-year-old Vancouver-based singer-songwriter who recently signed with Arista Records. Her writing style is emotional, and she leans into her half-Asian heritage and connection to the 2SLBGTQ+ community. LeMac is a multi-instrumentalist building a solid following, with over 1.2 million followers on TikTok and over 30 million streams. In preparation for her upcoming Constellations EP (releasing February 10, 2023), she is giving us her single “Meet You In Hell.”

Meet You In Hell” wastes no time getting to LeMac’s warm, expressive vocals. Her tone buzzes with rich overtones and youthful energy. Her glissandos are controlled and build the pre-chorus. Through the song’s form, she shows many vocal colors in her vocal timbre. The chorus is over-produced and covers her vocals. The verse offers a deeper, sultry side of her voice with lovely backing vocals. The post-chorus has much production but makes sense, and the lyrics are very witty.

LeMac is showing she is one to watch with her powerful vocal sound and exciting songs. “Meet You In Hell” shows she has vocal control, a beautiful sound, and the energy and power to project her ideas, pre-save Constellations Here.
