Carly Pearce was born into music, and has never known a moment that Country music wasn’t her destined path. At the young age of 11 she began touring with a small band, and by sixteen was performing at Dollywood six times a day, five times a week. Over the past eight years in Nashville, the CMT Next Women of Country alumnus has been blazing her own trail, with a depth of her songwriting that comes from sheer work and dedication. In 2016, Carly earned a coveted opening slot on Kelsea Ballerini’s, The First Time tour and celebrated her first Top 40 hit, “Wasn’t That Drunk,” a sultry collaboration with the Josh Abbott Band.

Fans and critics have taken notice of Pearce’s songwriting and full textured vocal style. Her first single “Every Little Thing” impacted Country radio after becoming a “Highway Find” on SiriusXM’s The Highway.  Pearce has been named an “Artist to Watch” in addition to being selected as a CMT Listen Up “17 for 2017” artist. Currently working on new music for her debut album on the Big Machine Label Group with hit producer Busbee (Maren Morris, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum), 2017 is destined to be Carly’s breakout year.

Pearce’s June 23, 2017 single release, “If My Name Was Whiskey” is another taste of great things to come from this talented country singer. In the style of Lady Antebellum and Taylor Swift, her music has great crossover appeal and will find a musical home in any music lovers heart. Pearce’s voice has a very natural sound to it, organic even, it is full throughout her range, which is refreshing, and she sings with heart.

Pearce’s songwriting is right in line with the before mentioned names, it seems there is a fascination with drinking alcohol in the country world, but that is ok because it has produced some excellent songs! “If My Name Was Whiskey,” falls into that category. The lyrics tell a story and her melodies are strong and memorable. There is a special growl to her voice that makes her vocal style very unique, especially in the quiet opening and the verses.

“If My Name Was Whiskey” is a great single, it shows Pearce’s ability and brings awareness to her upcoming release. She is a versatile songwriter, and this single showcases her capability to effortlessly tackle a songs poignant emotional core.  This short single continues to provide energy for forward momentum to progress this welcomed new musical talent that proves she has staying power.
