Annie Kozuch, Here With You

Here With You introduces the listener to a talented new face on the Latin and Jazz scene. Trilingual vocalist, Annie Kozuch serves up a tasty portion of jazz, boleros and bossa nova.

“Chega de Saudade” (“No More Blues”), composed by Antonio Carlos Jobim (music) and Vinícius de Moraes (lyric) is ably delivered by Kozuch with authentic articulation and an apparent connection to the lyric.
“How Deep is the Ocean” is given a sensitive treatment showcasing a breathy side of Kozuch’s vocal texture. Her warmth and believability shine through on this track. The sparse instrumentation highlights Annie’s more fragile abilities within her voice.
“Nosotros” written by famous Cuban composer, Pedro Junco is given a bolero feel, though covered by more than 400 artists such as Sara Montiel, Placido Domingo and Luis Miguel. Annie’s version is a befitting tribute.
“Carinhoso” gives the listener a fresh outlook on the tune and allows the listener to feel Kozuch’s ability to swing with fervor.
A Spanish rendition of Mexican composer Armando Manzanero’s, “Somos Novios” cements Kozuch as a triple threat. English, Portuguese and Spanish all in one release, and done tastefully and with connective emotion is immediately evident and thematically ties this release as a cohesive embodiment of her talents. All of them!
