Veggie Tales, A Singing Christmas Tree Review

The VeggieTales gang is getting ready to put on a Christmas spectacular – a singing Christmas tree. They just need to decide who gets to be the star on top. While Bob will make the ultimate decision, he wants the help of some judges – Archibald, Madame Blueberry, and Mr. Lunt, who wants to be the snarly judge everyone loves to despise. Everyone wants the job, including Miss Achmetha, who is still hung up on puppies; the Boyz in the Sink; and Blind Lemon Lincoln. And, in the funniest song on here, the Peas and the Pirates fight over who should sing “We Three Kings.”

I was a bit concerned since I just loved their first Christmas CD if this would live up to it. I’m happy to report it’s just as silly and fun as the first one. The second half stays more on the series side with the focus on familiar Christmas songs. There are lots of new songs or song parodies as well, including three new outstanding songs, “Was He a Boy Like Me?” “What My Father Did on Christmas Eve,” and “It’s About Love.”

This is another Christmas CD that kids and parents will love because it is truly funny. It might be a fight to see who can wear this one out first.
